Elves are beings who were created by the Eldar. They were created to fight in the civil war of the Eldar, sometimes called The Ending. Elves were made whole from the land and from the Eldar who created them. They were also tied to the spirit realm and therefore the Umbra. This makes then naturally magickal race. They unlike any other race of the land are beings of magic. They possess a humanoid appearance but are not human. Their slight frames and lithe bodies may seem frail or weak, but many an elven foe has perished thinking that. But what truly sets them apart from all others is that they are innatly magickal race.
• +2 Dexterity,
–2 Constitution.
• Medium: As Medium creatures, elves have no special bonuses or penalties
due to their size.
• Elf base land speed is 30 feet.
• Immunity to magic sleep effects, and a +2 racial saving throw bonus
against enchantment spells or effects.
• Low-Light Vision: An elf can see twice as far as a human in starlight,
moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains
the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
• Weapon Proficiency: Elves receive the Martial Weapon Proficiency feats
for the Crescent Blade (longsword, rapier), Short Spear, longbow (including
composite longbow), and shortbow (including composite shortbow) as bonus
feats.
• +2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. An elf who merely
passes within 5 feet of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Search check
to notice it as if she were actively looking for it.
• Automatic Languages: Arvelian and either Erlin or Sindarin. Bonus Languages:
Erlin, Sindarin, Olmec, Gargun, Orc, Eldar, Fey, Feral, and Sylvan.
• Favored Class: Wizard. A multiclass elf ’s wizard class does not
count when determining whether she takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing.

Players in my game are not required to pay for this ability. I see it as a given and since Age rarely enters a campaign, even a long one, I feel it is not worth the cost. It is still true but is a story element not a game mechanic one.
